Senior Theatre Practitioner

Responsibilities:
- Develop your supervision/training skills of junior staff, theatre list management skills, budgetary management and managerial accountability skills under the supervision of the Theatre Manager.
- Follow hospital guidelines and protocols as you promote best evidence-based practice, always acting as the patient’s advocate.
- You will ensure the safe custody of medication and controlled drug and that patient care areas are safe, fit for purpose and effectively maintained.
- You will undertake mandatory surgical checks prior to the start of the procedure, during and pre-wound closure.
- You will plan and take the lead to facilitate the running of theatre lists and provide management accountability in the absence of a clinical lead under the supervision of Theatre Manager.
Requirements for this role:
- First level Registered Nurse/HCPC registered ODP.
- SFA desirable, experienced in ENT essential
- Post registration education in a relevant specialty, Degree in Healthcare or 5+ years equivalent experience.
- Expert scrub nurse with post qualification scrub experience in a range of surgical specialties.
- Strong patient-centred approach
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity and ethics in the workplace.

They have an opportunity for a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
