Support Worker/HCA (Mental Health & Secure Transport)

Salary: £14 per hour Salary Increase after Probation (No Capped Progression)

Job Overview:
Are you passionate about supporting individuals with mental health challenges? Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker/HCA to join their team in a secure transport setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mental Health & Behavioural Support: Support patients with mental health challenges, including those with confusion, behavioural issues, and learning difficulties. Manage de-escalation and aggression when required.
  • Transport & Security: Ensure the safe and secure transport of patients between facilities, including emergency transfers and transporting adults & children.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior team members, report on patient well-being, and contribute to care planning and delivery.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: Previous experience in a mental health care setting.

Forensic, PICU, Acute, Rehab experience is valuable.

Experience with secure transport is an advantage but not essential.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to assist patients with daily tasks and use your initiative.
  • Qualifications: GCSE English and Maths or equivalent. NVQ2/NVQ3 preferred. Physical Intervention Training (MVA) will be provided.
  • Personal Attributes: Compassionate, reliable, and able to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
